Growlanser 2 OST geekery.
Jan. 17th, 2007 09:58 pmSince GH doesn't have the Growlanser 2 OST, I thought I'd settle for the PSF/gamerip instead. I'm very lucky someone ripped his game disc recently, just when I felt like listening to MIDI Growlanser music. Nice timing~! I don't download rips before because I thought they were a total hassle, since I have to download a separate player and everything... I was so wrong. XD; Even some of the looped sound effects were ripped! I'm very much amused by the hooting owls. :D
While listening to the BGMs, I felt really nostalgic. I don't remember how long it's been since I played Growlanser 2. I enjoyed the game very much (finished it twice; I was going for the bad ending in my third playthrough, but I got stuck because my party left me, so I kind of left it hanging like that) and I... I absolutely love the English voice acting! ♥ The music sounds so old-school and (good!) MIDI, but I find the battle themes really catchy.
Listing battle BGMs for reference:
-- Fanatically (normal battle theme. I missed this one. ♥)
-- Be a Winner (remix of "Fanatically")
-- Risky Mission (I can't recall the missions where this BGM were played, but I heard it a couple of times)
-- The Whereabouts of One's Victory (plays when the party's about to get KO'ed?)
-- Hard Luck (I hate Wolfgang and his mercenaries! D<)
-- Hurry Up (Played in the very first mission of the game. "These walls move?! If we don't hurry, we'll be skewered!!1")
-- New Enemy (After killing all enemies in the field, new ones show up on occasion. Yes, they have back-up!)
-- Because You Have Friends (I remember this one! Plays after you save uh, Arietta? and she joins the party.)
-- Emergency Battle Front (the Wein & Max duel? I forget...)
-- Final Battle (... the final battle theme. I don't really remember this one!)
-- Despair (Game over music. Hahah.)
Aaaaand...
-- World of Hope (World map~~~!)
I really need to learn how to convert psf files to mp3 so I can transfer these tracks to Koko. I'd also like to learn how to rip music, but it all sounds so complicated. :/
